Bereits vor 10.000 Jahren wurden die Früchte des Avocadobaumes, als Lieferant von Öl und Früchten,von den Atzteken in Mittelamerika genutzt. Der Avocadobaum wird stattliche 15 m hoch. Er wächst u.a. im tropischen Mexiko, der Heimat des Avokado. Die vielen kleinen weiss-grünlichen Blüten, sind ähnlich unserer Süsskirsche , obligatorisch auf Insektenbestäubung angewiesen.Den Bienen bietet der Avocado sowohl reichlich Nektar als auch köstlichen Blütenstaub. Aus dem Nektar stellen die Bienen den fruchtig-kräftigen, sehr aromatischen Avocadohonig her, der ein wenig nach Backobst und Pflaumen schmeckt. Er ist geschmacklich in eine Reihe zu setzen mit Honigen wie Eiche, Wald oder Edelkastanie und ebenfalls dunkel-schwarz.

Absolutely pure heather honey from France or Norway. Calluna is a low-growing evergreen native of Europe with a liking for dry acidic soils. Ling heather (calluna vulgaris) honey is considered the "true" heather honey. Ling heather has unique sensory qualities and exhibits a gelatinous property called thixotopism. Normally it is gel-like and firm but it will become temporarily liquid if stirred or agitated.Heather honey was famously harvested in the Lüneburg heath from the Middle Ages until the 19th century. It declined when the heathlands were reclaimed for crops.Ling heather honey is reddish orange to dark amber. Lindenhonig 50 g

Besonders in der norddeutschen Tiefebene - mit hohem Grundwasserspiegel honigt die Linde ( fast) regelmäßig . Bis in die späten Abendstunden befliegen die Bienen die Wipfel der bis zu 30 m hohen Lindenbäume. Der reine Lindenhonig ist ein kräftiger, frischer ( leicht minziger) Honig mit einem für Lindenhonig typischen Aroma.In manchen Jahren ist der Lindenhonig heller , als in anderen .In diesen Fällen konnten sich die Lindenzierläuse nicht günstig entwickeln . Dann haben wir einen mehr oder weniger reinen Lindenblütenhonig .In anderen Jahren kommt deren Honigtau hinzu und färbt den Honig dunkler.( Das sind Jahre in denen ein unter Linden parkendes Auto innerhalb von Stunden klebt ).

The huge variety of Chile's native trees, plants and herbs helped encourage the country's nascent apiculture.Quillaja saponaria, the Soap Bark tree or Soapbark, is an evergreen tree in the family Quillajacae. The tree has thick, dark bark, smooth, leathery, shiny, oval evergreen leaves 3-5 cm long, white flowers 15 mm borne in dense corymbs, and a dry fruit with five follicles each containing 10-20 seeds.Quillay honey has a dark amber colour and a soft texture. It has a nuttily and floral bouquet.It is often recommended for allergies and digestive problems, and it is high in antioxidants.
